Concern over first cases of monkeypox in children

The World Health Organization (WHO)  confirmed the first cases of monkeypox in children under 18 years of age. Although they are isolated cases, the agency recalled that children, as well as pregnant women and immunosuppressed people are risk groups. Monkeypox attacks children Until the end of June, more than 5,500 people affected by this  disease  had been reported worldwide in some 50 countries, but the first reports of  children  in Europe infected by the monkeypox outbreak also began to arrive. A few, 4 or 5, which however may indicate a change in the pattern of contagion, its extension and a behavior in the transmission of the disease that alerts the health authorities. Monkeypox is caused by a virus. It is a zoonotic viral disease , meaning that it can be transmitted from animals to humans.
