500 million people are at risk of developing chronic diseases

Between the years 2020 and 2030, there is a  risk  that almost 500 million people will develop  heart disease ,  obesity and diabetes , among other chronic diseases, attributable to  physical inactivity . This is the conclusion that emerges from a recent report by the UN health agency, the  World Health Organization (WHO) . This work indicates that the governments of the world are making very slow progress in deploying policies to increase physical activity in their population. As relevant data, the WHO reported that the levels of inactivity among adults in high-income countries doubled the levels of inactivity in low-income countries. The report also points out that women in most countries are less active than men, especially in the  Eastern Mediterranean and in America.
